CAN Declares Days of Prayers Against COVID-19
The leadership of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has directed churches in Nigeria to observe the Sundays of 22nd and 29th March, 2020 as days of prayers against the coronavirus in Nigeria and globally.
CAN is urging Christians to pray for protection of Nigerians from Coronavirus and healing for those who have been infected already.
CAN President, His Eminence Rev. Samson Ayokunle in a press statement advised churches not to panic but adhere strictly to the guidelines for combating COVID-19 in all their gatherings.
In view of the restriction of public gathering to 50 persons by some state governments, CAN advises churches to hold services online or at House cell levels.
It says for churches without online system, services can be broken into shifts of not more than 50 members in each shift.
Each Assembly is also mandated to provide alcohol-based hand sanitizers for use by members, in addition to regular hand washing and maintaining distance from anyone coughing or sneezing.
