APC Congratulates Vice President Osinbajo at 63


The All Progressives Congress felicitates with the Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo  on the occasion of his 63rd birthday on Sunday, March 8, 2020.

The party in a statement by it's National Publicity Secretary Lanre Issa Onilu, salute the patriotism, doggedness and untiring efforts of the Vice President in partnering and assisting President Muhammadu Buhari, in tackling insecurity, fighting corruption and resetting the nation's economy on the path of growth and development.

The APC particularly note the Vice President's massive contributions in the success of the APC-led administration's Social Investment Programme (SIP), which is reputed to be Africa's biggest and most ambitious social welfare policy for the most vulnerable in the society.

The party also applauds the Vice President's headship of the National Economic Council (NEC), a development, which has ensured a more beneficial synergy between the Federal and State governments in quickly and frontally addressing issues that are pertinent to the welfare of Nigerians.

They party has expressed confidence that the commendable partnership of the President and the Vice President would take Nigeria to the Next Level of peace, progress and prosperity.

THE SPEAKER HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES FEMI GBAJABIAMILA SAYS THE NATIONAL ASSEMBLY WILL ENGAGE HOUSES OF ASSEMBLY ACROSS THE 36 STATES ON THE NEED FOR THE DOMESTICATION OF THE CHILD RIGHTS ACT AND VIOLENCE AGAINST PERSONS PROHIBITION ACT. WHILE HOSTING GENDER BASED CIVIL SOCIETY ORGANISATIONS, THE SPEAKER ADDED THAT THE HOUSE WOULD ALSO WORK ON SEXUAL VIOLENCE RELATED LEGISLATIONS AND CONFORM THEM WITH CURRENT REALITIES.         HE ASSURED THE GROUP THAT THE NATIONAL ASSEMBLY IS IN SOLIDARITY WITH AND SUPPORTS ALL EFFORTS AT ELIMINATING GENDER BASED AND ALL FORMS OF VIOLENCE AND ABUSE. Former NNPC MGD, Baru, is Dead

The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) regrets to announce the demise of its  immediate past Group Managing Director (GMD), Dr. Maikanti Kacalla Baru, Friday night. Dr. Baru was the 18th Group Managing Director of the nnpc a consummate Mechanical Engineer, who steered the affairs of the Corporation from July 4th 2016 to July 7th 2019 . A statement by the NNPC Group General Manager, Group Public Affairs, Dr. Kennie Obateru announced the passing on of dr maikanti Baru after a brief illness in a hospital in Abuja The release says NNPC Group Managing Director, Mele Kyari expressed shock over the sudden death of dr maikanti baru ,describing him as a man ‘of exemplary character and disposition.’ Dr. Baru, was 60, years  Old.
