HOUSE INTERVENES TO AVERT NATIONWIDE BLACKOUT

THE LOOMING  NATIONWIDE BLACKOUT THREATENED  BY NATIONAL UNION OF ELECTRICITY EMPLOYEES HAS CAUGHT THE ATTENTION OF THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVE
TO THIS END, THE LAWMAKERS AT WEDNESDAYS PLENARY FOLLOWING A MOTION BY THE DEPUTY MINORITY LEADER DECIDED TO MEET UNION REPRESENTATIVES TO AVERT THE INDUSTRIAL ACTION.

THE HOUSE ALSO RESOLVED TO INVITE THE MINISTER OF POWER, HIS COUNTERPART OF LABOUR AND EMPLOYMENT AND THE DG PENSION OFFICE TOWARDS ADDRESSING THE DEMANDS AND CONCERNS RAISED BY THE UNION.
HOUSE MEMBERS ALSO ADOPTED A MOTION CALLING FOR THE PROVISION OF RELIEF MATERIALS TO VICTIMS OF A RECENT ATTACK BY BANDITS IN SOME COMMUNITIES IN ADAMAWA AND BORNO STATES.
THE SPEAKER FEMI GBAJABIAMILA READ A PRESIDENTIAL COMMUNICATION ON THE STATUTORY BUDGET PROPOSAL OF 2020, FOR THE FEDERAL CAPITAL TERRITORY, FOR CONSIDERATION AND PASSAGE.
