HOUSE COMMITTEES ON NDDC AND WORKS

The Acting managing Director of Niger Delta Development Commission Mrs Joy nunieh has during a session with the House of representatives committee on NDDC to defend the commissions budgetary spending informed the lawmakers that all emergency contracts awarded will be suspended.

The Acting MD said that the decision to suspend the contracts was because most were awarded without adhering to due process and this goes against federal governments reform agenda.
Chairman house committee on NDDC Olubunmi Ojo said the infractions in the commission have denied people of niger delta needed development.
In another development, the Chairman house committee on works Kabir Abubakar during an engagement with minister of works and housing Babatunde Fashola and contractors handling the Abuja-Kaduna-Zaria- Kano road project to involve more contractors.
This he said will address the slow pace of work being experienced

NNPC Expresses Commitment to Biodiversity

The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) has expressed its determination to adhere to sustainable environment practices in all its operations to safeguard biodiversity in the country. Group Managing Director of the NNPC, Mallam Mele Kyari, made this known in Abuja in his keynote address as part of activities to commemorate the 2020 World Environment Day celebration with the theme ‘Biodiversity’. MELE Kyari said  the corporation would continue to be guided by sound environmental policies and standards so that the NNPC does not harm the environment and the communities of creatures within its sphere of operations.
